The Employee Free Choice Act

REBUILD THE AMERICAN DREAM

Telephone

With the
EMPLOYEE FREE CHOICE ACT

No matter how strong an economic stimulus plan we have, it will not result in broadly shared, lasting prosperity unless we also restore workers’ freedom to join together to bargain with their employers for a better life.

Higher levels of union membership raise the standard of living for all workers. We need to level the playing field to turn around the economy and rebuild the American Dream. That’s why we need the Employee Free Choice Act.

The EMPLOYEE FREE CHOICE ACT WILL:

  • Restore the freedom of workers (not the company) to make their own decision about how to form their union, whether by majority sign-up or through a so-called secret ballot election that is likely to be manipulated by the company.
  • Create real penalties for companies that violate workers’ rights.
  • Provide mediation and arbitration to help workers and employers come to agreement on a first contract.

The Employee Free Choice Act will restore workers’ freedom to form unions and bargain with their employer for a better life. With our economy in a free fall, working families need a fair chance to get ahead. Please co-sponsor and vote for the Employee Free Choice Act to put the American Dream back within reach of working people.
